Ingredients

  • Green beans
  • Tuna steaks about 4-6oz each
  • Canola oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Pepper
  • unsalted butter
  • 2 large yams

Directions

Creamy Yams:
Cut yams into inch thick pieces, boil in salted water until they are fork tender. Drain water and add 1/3 the amount of yams in butter. Use a potato masher to break them down then switch to a wooden spoon and stir until nice a creamy. Check for seasoning and keep warm.

Green beans:
In a sauté pan add beans and a knob of butter and season, sauté until just a little soft and keep warm.

Method:
Oil and season the tuna steaks and in a hot pan with some canola oil sauté each side for 60-90 seconds so they sear nicely and pink in the middle.

Plate the yams. Lay the tuna on top add some of the beans and finish with some fresh herbs if there is any butter from the beans add that to top of the tuna.

That’s it easy one kids and so delicious!
