Ingredients
- Won Ton wrappers
Pork filling:
- One pound ground pork meat
- One scallion finely chopped
- Large knob of ginger grated
- Teaspoon sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
Dipping sauce:
- Equal parts soy sauce and rice wine vinegar
- fresh chili for some heat
Directions
Mix all ingredients together. Now take a little teaspoon of this filling and pan fry it so you can taste it and make sure there is enough of what you like, garlic, soy etc. This is a good way to make sure your filing is rock star status taste.
Method:
Take the won ton wrapper and lay on cutting board, now put s small teaspoon of the filling in the middle. Now dip your finger in water and run it along the outside. Now fold it in half so you have a little purse now seal the edge but make sure to push out all the air so the skin it tight against the filling. You can add a little crimp as I’ve done and let sit too dry for 15 min before you cook them.
Here is how I like them, hot pan, neutral oil like canola, put them in flat bottom down, now add a good splash of water and cover them up. Check after a few min you will see the water will have evaporated and when they are ready they will come off the bottom of the pan and should not be stuck. They should have a nice golden crust on the bottom and soft pillow like on the rest of the dumpling. That’s it! Easy stuff and you can make a ton of these and freeze them so you can just pull them out and cook them the same way just add a little more water.
